This form is for Lot Owners (or persons entitled to vote) who wish to submit a motion for consideration at a General Meeting.
In NSW, an owner (or other person entitled to vote) can require a motion to be included on the agenda for the next General Meeting when submitted in writing with an explanatory note (up to 300 words). This right does not apply to strata committee meeting agendas.
In Victoria, meeting notices and agendas must be issued within statutory timeframes and may need to include specific resolution wording (for example, special or unanimous resolutions). To allow compliant notice to all members, motions should be submitted well before the meeting notice is issued.
Example 1: “That the Owner of Lot [X] be granted approval to install an air-conditioning unit in accordance with the attached application.”
Example 2: “That the Owners Corporation approve the quotation to repair the tiles of the common area front entrance within the next financial year.”
