Submitting Motions for Meetings (NSW & VIC)

This form is for Lot Owners (or persons entitled to vote) who wish to submit a motion for consideration at a General Meeting.

Key requirements

• Your motion should be written clearly so it can be voted on as For or Against.
• TSM Strata will generally include motions as submitted. We may only make minor edits where wording is offensive, inappropriate, or requires adjustment to support legal compliance.
• Please include an explanatory note outlining the intent of the motion. For NSW, the explanatory note must be no more than 300 words where an owner is requiring a motion to be included on a general meeting agenda.
• Once a meeting notice and agenda have been issued, it is generally not practicable to amend or reissue the agenda to add new motions.

NSW note

In NSW, an owner (or other person entitled to vote) can require a motion to be included on the agenda for the next General Meeting when submitted in writing with an explanatory note (up to 300 words). This right does not apply to strata committee meeting agendas.

VIC note

In Victoria, meeting notices and agendas must be issued within statutory timeframes and may need to include specific resolution wording (for example, special or unanimous resolutions). To allow compliant notice to all members, motions should be submitted well before the meeting notice is issued.
